Strong start to 2018

Spring semester is in full swing at UW-Whitewater and for the Department of Marketing! Our February edition of the Department of Marketing Newsletter highlights recent achievements and our student, faculty and sponsor spotlights.
Marketing and Sales Career Fair – 29 companies participated with job and internship opportunities!
Perfect Pitch Sales Competition – Approximately 170 students participated and $2550 was awarded in prize money from our sponsors: Consolidated Electrical Distributors and Impact Networking.
Partners in the Classroom – students interact one-on-one with representatives from our sponsoring companies.
Student Spotlight – Jason Precia, most recent recipient of the Richard Telfer – AMA Minority Business Student Scholarship.
Faculty Spotlight – Yushan Zhao, Professor and Chair of the Department Assessment Committee.
Partner Spotlight – Brian Robinson and Jason Gardner from C.H. Robinson.

AMA 10th Annual Regional Conference – Experiential Marketing

The UWW chapter of the American Marketing Association (AMA) hosted their 10th Annual Regional Conference on Friday, October 13th. This year the theme of the conference was Experiential MarketingKeynote speakers included representatives from GMR Marketing, Summerfest, the Milwaukee Bucks, and Tito’s Vodka.
Over 450 students from 26 different AMA chapters attended, coming from as far away as Germany. In addition to attending the keynote presentations, students competed in a variety of marketing competitions. There were five competitions: Sales, Mock Interview, Elevator Pitch, Digital Marketing, and a Marketing Case. All students that competed had the chance of winning almost $7,000 in prizes. There was also a career fair that allowed students to network with over 40 employers coming from a variety of fields of business.
